As you may know, toads and other amphibians are highly sensitive to the health and quality of their environment. Due to their semi-permeable skin and dependence on water (especially in the aquatic stage: tadpoles) the size and health of amphibian populations are strongly effected by environmental toxins. By choosing the toad as our mascot, we honor its contribution to our on farm and in yard ecosystems and remind ourselves of the responsibility we have as stewards of our lands and their animal inhabitants.
