Brief update: I know I said we were on track for mid April but that was assuming I was able to get soil delivered to finish raising the beds. Well, just before it was going to be delivered it started raining and so the truck was not able to pull off the drive onto the property (this is a very large and heavy truck and the ground has to be bone dry). Now, it has been a few weeks and we have had 8" of rain. Once the water drains off, I need probably 2 weeks of perfectly dry, sunny weather to make the ground firm enough to get a truck in. Cross your fingers! If that happens, then we're still on track. If it keeps raining for the next few months then the soil won't be delivered until March and it will be more like June before we're ready. I'll keep you updated. I'm about to send out a newsletter with info and updates. Pray for sun!
When we do get the soil delivered we will have a Saturday work day and all those who have been asking about coming out to the farm to work will get the opprotunity! We'll spend the day building beds, etc. I'll make up a big batch of lemonaid and some cookies...you provide a sack lunch. This is going to be so much fun :-)
